I have read The Sandman over and over and still I'm baffled as to what happened during the funeral barge scene. Who is the child throwing the roses? Who is the man on the pier, and who are the (presumably dead) people underneath the pier?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

The child is Nada's reincarnation. The boy with the lyre is Orpheus, his son, who is presumably in Hades, hence the corpes.
