I know that Neil has experienced a great deal of success in many areas of writing, and that novels were an areaa that he explored at a later age. I've looked at some of his bio's to try and figure out a simple question of mine.

How old was Neil when he published his first novel?

Real Book... not comics, graphic novels, or other types of media... well you know what I mean. How old was he?

And Neverwhere was a television series before, the novel was just the TV series in book form. Kinda a grey area, I guess.

If you go that route, Neil only has 3 novels that were solo and not anything else before it.
American Gods (2001), Coraline (2002), and Anansi Boys (2005)

For me, it is more a question of the manner in which it was written, and the intention. Neverwhere was conceptionalised as a series, more like a comic in that sense than a novel, and I've understood it. As for Stardust, I don't know how Neil wrote it and under what context. If it was written as one full story, or as a 4 part series.

I'm not trying to be difficult, I just find it interesting to think about, and to look at in how Neil writes and how these stories are conceptualised. Of course, from what he says, he doesn't actually know until he writes it.

You are a Bookholder. To prompt, or...LINE! (not to prompt) --not to prompt. That is the question. Whether t'is nobler to suffer the slings and arrows of a bad memory, or to take arms against a sea of textual deviations, and...LINE! (by opposing) --by opposing them...LINE! (end) --end...LINE! (them) --end them...LINE! (to prompt, to correct; no more; and by a correction to say we end the heart-ache of a really terrible performance) You didn't have to give me the whole thing! I know it!
