I met Neil at Fantasy.con in Nottingham where I was firstly amazed at how down to earth he was and secondly sent me into a giddy fit when he drew in my copy of Stardust as well as signing it.

But back to my topic.

My mother had a word with Neil about perhaps meeting my daughter (she's 5) who was put off reading by a stupid comment made by my ex-father in law. I would just like to say thank you Neil. Although she didn't get to meet you, her reading interest has suddenly been sparked thanks to you. I bought her the Wolves in Wall at Fantasy.con. It's now one of her favourites. We've spent many a night reading it together and doing impressions of elephants trying not to sneeze.

Thank you for making a little girl become fascinated with reading. Thank you for writing that book. You have no idea how happy it has made me seeing her getting so involved with a book at long last.

She's even listening to our walls at night just to check that there are no wolves or elephants in them.

You've managed to capture a little girl's imagination no end.
