I did a search for this topic but nothing came up. However, it is very possible that I'm just blind.

Anyway, for christmas,I'd like to get my friend a signed copy of his favorite neil gaiman book. I saw on Neil's site that you can in fact send him books and he will sign them. Has anyone done this before, and if so, how long did it take? Is my goal a reasonable one?

Thanks,

Alicia

Alicia,

Neilgaiman.com FAQ re sending stuff to Dreamhaven to be personalized is out of date - Dreamhaven's site has suspended that, for now anyway.

I have purchased signed books from Dreamhaven. You can order pre-signed books or ask for a personalized signing. If you request something personalized they can not give you any guarantee when you will receive it because it all depends when Neil Gaiman drops by their store.

I would say it is, unfortunately, not in the realm of possibility to get something personalized by Christmas but you could definitely get some pre-signed goodies and set the wheels in motion for the next celebration.

I've had nothing but good vibes from Dreamhaven - they are excellent at filling orders etc etc. I heartily recommend browsing the section of their online store dedicated to All Things Gaiman: neilgaiman.net and read the FAQ's to get a better idea of time frames and options.

They have lots of other goodies too, and their main site is Dreamhaven

Then again, you could always bypass the store and try to bribe the Fabulous Lorraine with her own mango grove.

Best of luck and what a thoughtful gift!
