I wanted to say, somewhere where there was a tiny chance of Mr. Gaiman seeing it, that I have a lot of respect for his willingness to talk about his creative life in public interviews and such like that. I am an aspiring fantasy/sci-fi writer (I'm fully sure I'm not the only one of those on the message boards), and Neil Gaiman's accessibility through the internet--even, and especially, outside of his own webspace--has been a source of emotional nourishment during my development of creative goals.

I will be working on an online graphic novel, available for free to readers. It's not even as though I expect to become famous, it's not as though I expect Mr. Gaiman to encounter my work. But it's partially because of him that I know it's what I want to do. It's largely thanks to him that I have the courage to make the attempt.

I appreciate it, Mr. Gaiman. I do.
