You mean this Martin Short? I can see where the smile has some resemblance, but otherwise Martin whishes he looked like Neil.
The only Michael Locker I found was this one and he looks nothing like Neil. I'm sure you mean someone else.
His name sounds like Neil Diamond *being silly* and I can certainly listen to Neil Diamond while reading some of Neil's stories (it wouldn't work with all of them).

Hmmm ... Chimeer? I think "Michael Locker" is member mlocker's actual name ...
But you're right, Neil is much cuter than Martin Short!

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ You are a Confectioner. Who can take a sunrise and sprinkle it with dew? Actually, that's Bob The Enchanter, two doors down on the left. But you make delectable treats, which is no simple feat considering Oompa Loompas won't be invented for three centuries. Not only do you delight with your sweets, but you've paved the way for a new profession: dentistry!
David Schwimmer ... hehe... Yeah, not a bad idea. Maybe that's what Neil would look like as a college professor of paleontology (I'm sure Neil could teach that if he wanted to).
Now I realise that the original poster might not have claimed he looked like Neil at all, but that was just his signature. It's still funny for someone to register for the only purpose of posting one single thing, that Neil looks like Martin Short, and never coming back after that. No offense intended.

To me Neil looks like Otto, the bus driver on teh Simpsons.

On the subject of looks, I almost did not purchase the first Gaiman book I read because of the picture on the back cover. I don't know why, I suppose I did not want to be compelled to like the writing based on the asthetics of the author. I just thought maybe they needed to include a "cute" picture in order to sell the book. Of course, after I read the book I was glad I did not judge the content based on the picture. And once I got familiar with Neil Gaiman as a writer I realized that he was great, and that I would have been making a big mistake based on some suspicion of good looking people.
Ha, this is a good one, I haven't heard it yet. Neil using the good looks to sell books. I never thought of it this way. May I ask which book it was (trying to figure out which picture)?
I started with the Sandman and it didn't have any picture of him. By the time I saw the first one, I had read enough that the reaction was "this is what the guy who wrote all this looks like" and not "this is what the cute guy is writing". My first impression was (like many others have said) "he looks just like Morpheus". By the third picture of him I saw, I decided he was definitely very charming. He didn't strike me as that good looking from the start.

The first Neil Gaiman book I read was Smoke and Mirrors. The picture on the back cover, paired with quotes promoting the book like "literary rock star", almost made me put it back on the rack. I thought it was nonsense. I'm just being honest - that was my first reaction. Now I see that I may have been a bit of a snob, and I shouldn't let my mistrust of handsome men keep me from reading a book!
No problem, I just found it amusing. I may check my copy to see which picture made such a strong impression.
Well, and the publishers will put whatever they can on the cover to sell the books. If you read them you may think every published book is the best thing under the sun. I only read the reviews when they are from people I know (of).

His birthday is coming up, Nov 10. He's a Scorpio, so he can't help being a charming lady killer. Haha. But add to that hot eyes is this pleasing speaking voice. Should hear his audio introduction to Fragile Things.

i can't say exactly who neil resembles...but he's always seemed familiar to me. i've always liked the scruffy, off-beat kind of good looks on a man...not the conventional pretty boy...a rougher dark and handsome appearance.
