I'm not sure who I'm most like, definitely not Morpheus, though I'd want to say that just because I'd want to be the Lord of Dreaming. But barring that I'd want to be Lucien. All those books...and I'm a pretty good sidekick.

Either Daniel's mom or that dejected elf woman in Sandman.

The Furies looks like a great book. Maybe I should order now for Xmas break. Delyrrium is also one of my favorites; I especially like her hair and font. Thanks again Se for another thoughtful reply.

I suppose I am like Door from Neverwhere. She always struck me as very mature for her age, but still very much a child on others. We've both had some very trying times as well and have gotten through them. I'm not sure that I liked her character the best in book, but, in all honesty, I suppose I can relate to her the most!

My inner child is Coraline, my outer child is either Sam from American Gods or Death. I consider myself to be a compassionate smart ass.

Sometimes I feel like the old witch (oldest witch in the lilim) in Stardust, which everyone probably does some times. I don't resemble her, but I have a certain affinity for her. The way her character is free and uncontrolled, and how her power eventually dwindles out until she's pathetic, and so human. Also, the fact that she's part of the lilim, so she's association with Lilith, Adam's first wife, and the story of (the misunderstood) lilith, which had a huge impact on women who follow or who's family did follow the Christian tradition. I feel sorry for the old witch in Stardust, she's a misunderstood character, within her world, and maby in ours.

Personally, I could never identify myself as one of Neil Gaiman's characters. Maby Yvaine from Stardust, or Rose Walker from Sandman, but only sometimes.

Since i've been at home with my family, i'm starting to feel like Neil's version of Scarecrow-- a hyper-intellectual locked up with the truly insane.

Well... unfortunately for me, so far I haven't had a chance to read any of Gaiman's novels except American Gods. So I have no idea if I'm anything like those characters. As for the Sandman... well, I'm definitely not Delirium, Desire, Despair, or Destiny. I suppose, in some ways, I am like Dream- female nonetheless, I am too determined and particular about my responsibilities to be Destruction, which aren't my only Dream-like mannerisms. (hmm, despite my username of undreamed, but oh well.) However... I have learned to adapt to change and I'm not so moody and morose. But I'm not cheerful enough to be Death...

Shit, well, yeah - there's so many to choose from. Even though I'm a guy I do identify quite a bit with Delirium, and Death and Dream as well. I have quite an affinity towards Destiny as well; though out of Sandman I'd have to say I'd probably be that crazy homeless guy out of "The Kindly Ones".
Or the mnouse circus owner from "Coraline" maybe, or a mix of the Marquis De Carabas and the Angel Islington perhaps...

I WAS most like Dream, Morpheus, locked within the prison of my life, maintaing my function as it demanded. I would not allow myself to change and I burned myself out completely, clinging to a past that no longer mattered or cared how hard I clung to it.

Then i read Sandman and realized where i was going wrong, the similarity was truly uncanny.

Now I'm like that guy, I think he was in one of the Death mini's, and I don't think he was named, just one of the many background characters that Neil made so cool, the one that bragged about seeing all the right movies, reading all the right books, knowing all the right people, you know that Precocious Bore that has too much of nothing to say.

But then I'm also like young MiracleMan, waking up in a world that has changed so much, and I've no idea what's real and what's in my head, and I can't seem to get a footing in this new world, it moves constantly and shifts, always falling and rising and changing-maybe Delirium?

lon, I believe he's referring to a different story arc. I can't explain without spoilers, but you're reffering to the Golden Age story, he seems to be reffering to the Silver Age story
