I loved the book, however, the one section I liked least is the part when Silas and friends are away fighting the Jacks. I like the idea, but for some reason it came across as a Scooby-doo moment for me. Sort of when a cartoon switches scenes and we suddenly see Scooby and Shaggy in a harrowing moment confronting a vampire, werewolf and mummy. I guess the best way to put it is that I wanted Silas to be non-cliche.

Well, here's one kid who realized I'm twelve, and I just borrowed this book from the library. I must say that this is one of the best books I've read, and I pretty much thought that he was a vampire pretty early on in the book, because it said he was niether living nor dead, and he had powers that Bod wouldn't be able to learn.
