Do you guys get bleedover when you read about a fictional character with the same name or username as a real acquaintance?

I'm reading Iain Banks's The Algebraist, where there's an alien species of contentious, verbose encyclopedists called the Dwellers. Neat, no? (I haven't read much Lovecraft)

On the other hand, a long time ago on a board far far away, a guy going by "Roland" told me about Stephen King's The Last Gunslinger. When I read it, at times I had this image of a bagpipe-playing English major schlepping through the desert.

When i first joined the board, i thought GMZoe was named after Zoe from webcomic Sluggy Freelance, and thus was a girl

*shrug*

reading the Dweller in Darkness short story for the first time was weird

and yeah, it bugs me when fictional characters have the same names as people i have an emotional attachment to... but i tend to get over it. reading Neuromancer was odd, since the only Molly i knew then was, largish and a huge anime fan
once i realized she was Trinity from The Matrix it all worked out

It's always somewhat odd to run into a character that shares my name - sometimes it gives me more attachement to the story, sometimes not. I usually don't find I have much direct' bleedover' though...
