Silly,
I'd be careful about hacking dvd players or drives. From what I understand, some of them can only be changed a set number of times, then they are stuck at that setting (wouldn't be an issue if it were set to region 0, but would be switching between 1 and 2). You can get a good multi-region, multi-format DVD player for around $100. I've had a Philips one for about a year now, and I haven't had any probs with it. And yes, Spaced is a great series. Regardless, my point is still valid. Not worth quibbling over semantics. One other thing - make sure you get a multi-region, multi-format dvd player. Even with the region modification it wouldn't play on a US tv due to the different formats (unless the tv could also show PAL). Majority of multi-region dvd players have a built in converter, but there are some that don't... This message has been edited. hack? DVD players? huh...i think yer all overestimating my technological capabilities.
i wanna get one of the multi-region thingamajiggies.  i couldn't hack my way into a paper bag. "Hack" really isn't the best word for it. Most DVD players have codes you can enter (often with the remote) that will change the region. But like I said above, it won't do you any good to change the region unless the tv the dvd player is attached to can show the PAL format. Just do a search for multi-region dvd player on Google and you'll find several sites that sell them. I think I spent about $120 for mine, and I haven't had any probs with it.
