I was wondering if anyone else on these boards is a fan of the musician Jason Webley. He is Seattle-based, and has beautiful, lyrical songs that often weave bits of Greek mythology and magical realism into them.

For this reason I thought that fans of Neil Gaiman might be interested in him! If you haven't heard any of his stuff, I'd say to take a look at his website at http://www.jasonwebley.com or look at this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bP21zUrMh7s

That video's a bit sillier than most of his work, but it's a good indication of his style.

Hope this doesn't seem like shameless promotion, I promise I'm not in league with the guy. I've just always been an admirer of his work and he seems like a good fit for Gaiman fans.

Before this link, I'd never heard of Jason Webley, but if you enjoy this ubbeat lyrical style, you shoudl really check out the Brombignagians Bards. They've got this awesome song which contemplates if Dragons choose to eat virgins because of health reasons, or because they're just plain crunchy. I think they're at www.thebards.net and I know they have he dragon song on the website, as well as some good dumb fun things like a Jedi Drinking song, and something where the lead guy is trying to teach everyone how to pronounce "Brombignagian."

As a newb, I don't know what kind of music would be a good fit for Gaiman fans, but I know what music is a good fit for the mood of certain scenes in his books. For example, I love Neverwhere. But there's a song I'd love to see on the soundtrack if Hollywood ever took the story to that motion picture level. It's the song "Touched" by Vast. Reason being: Neverwhere is full of magic and haunting imagery, and "Touched" is full of magical and haunting tones.

I think the song is fairly well known... but just for a memory refresher, here's someone's Van Helsing amv to the song.
