Just finished reading:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/1841491055/qid.../026-0967841-2302033

Devices and Desires.

Anyone else reading anything of his?

I'm half way through the second book in the series, 'Pattern'. It's good, though not as action paced as the first, but not as confusing.

Very interesting, very enjoyable. Very weird!!!

I like the whole idea behind Poldarn, and the fact that K J Parker is a kind of blacksmith too!

I've wanted to read his other book:

Hi!
I read Shadow and Pettern and Memory.
I liked Shadow and Pattern but was a bit disappointed with Memory (well, I always kind of knew who Poldarn was - or had been -, but I still didn't care much for the ending). Have you read Memory yet?

when's spring due?.

Couldn't really say. Shadow isn't bad, but there are a lot of better books out there. And the last book in the trilogy (Memory) really was a bit disappointing...
Would be a good book to read on a train so.

I'm part way though Memory, though yes, I've found I tend to get annoyed with Poldarn so end up not reading it for a bit.

But over all, I've enjoyed the books a lot. They get a little bogged down with the engineering side of things, but over all they've been fun and I've enjoyed reading them and slowley catching up on who/what Poldarn is (sometimes, I'm very slow on the uptake!)
