Suggestions anyone?

I prefer to live in a country that's small, and old, and where no one would ever have the NERVE to wear a cape in public, whether they could leap tall buildings in a single bound or not.

when's spring due?.

I'll do any books, I've read 'em all. Well, not the maps or any of that (except for Nanny Ogg's Cookbook, I do have that)

I'd have to say "anything but the first few Discworld books." He has really become a better writer with time and experience - when I look back at the first few, I cringe now.

I could go with Small Gods - I need to re-read it anyway.

Can I put in a plug for Hogfather for the winter holiday season? Smile

Having finished Thud, I find that I must finally break down and read Da Vinci Code to fully appreciate some of the Codex plotline.

Hello everyone. I just read my first Terry Pratchett book (aside from Good Omens) -- Mort. I enjoyed it, but would prefer to read something from one of his other little series within Discworld.

Small Gods sounds good -- I love stories that deal with religion, and to do it with humor requires a special talent (like Good Omens, I guess). Also the ones about the Night Watch PD seem like they'd be a riot, too.

Looking forward to it, whatever "it" is.

Chomiji - I always read Hogfather in mid-December!

parrotslave - the Da Vinci Code/Thud connection - is that why I didn't really get into it? I've read all the Discworld books and this one just seemed to plod along. I haven't read DVC, so...

Maeve, it is very possible that is the reason. I kind of know the plot of DVC from people talking about it, but I too felt like I was missing some bits. Although, I'll probably wait to see the movie first.

I also make a point to reread Hogfather every December. Smile

I'm going to start Hogfather on Dec. 1.

Anyone care to join me?

I'll pick it up some time over the holiday season, I'm sure.

I'm hoping our copy is buried in the head-high, double-wide stack of paperbacks on daughter Cho Girl's desk ... she never actually does her homework on her desk, she just uses it to store stuff. Smile
