Posted Hide Post Goodness. Right, well, the majority of my writing is academic, which means my bible is the Irish Historical Studies style book. I don't reccomend having anything to do with it unless you're writing in Irish history academia. Unless you like being terminally confused. Otherwise, the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography online is fantastic, as is the OED. My father swears by Fowlers's English Grammar thingy (don't know the title). ------------------------------ You are a Leprechaun. I'm not even sure what you are. Whiskey-soaked reports from your baffling Isle of Ire raise more questions than they answer. Are you a dwarf? Where's your pickax? If you're an elf, why don't you cobble? You'd think with all your gold, you could invest in some land, perhaps a title, and improve your station. Instead, you hide it in meteorologically-determined locations. You're getting killed on inflation, little friend!

"From Reading, Writing" by Winkler and McCuen and "Writing Down the Bones" by Goldberg And for a good reference book for Poetry, "Writing Poems" by Wallace. That's one of the books I actually had in my hand over the weekend (but put down, as I said in my earlier post). It's handy, and if I want to put a detail about 16th century fencing or the Roman Aqueducts, it will at least give me a place to start looking, if not a comprehencive account. In the past few days, we've been getting a *huge* amount of Notifications that are bouncing back to the mod email.
