By Christopher Paolini.

Am I the only person who loves these books? D: Eragon especially, although the second of the series is also good.

It just seems that everyone I talk to thinks they're too long-winded or has something else negative to say...

And I adore the books so much. x3 The film... well. -eyetwitch-
The film would be fine, if it were a film in its own right. Aimed towards children. Young children.
Based on the book, it sucks majorly. The book is SO much cooler.

... Anyway. ^^' I'm hoping people have at least read Eragon, so I can have a conversation about it. xD

plus, I've met Christopher Paolini and have his autograph. so freaking amazing. <3

Hate to say it, but I didn't like it. Seriously needed an editor. It's far from the worst YA I've seen, but tain't good either.

i enjoyed the book, Froggy, but the movie... gah the movie.
don't even get me started on the movie.

i got my grandparents to buy the first book for me for Christmas two years ago. inhaled it in about 4 hours.
i do agree that his editor could've been better, but it was pretty good stuff.

How d'you mean, needed editing? I couldn't see any grammar or spelling problems. You mean the diction, or what? I'm just interested here. xD

Heehee, Robot. The movie... just no. xD

Maybe I just get sucked into books too easily. xD I can find myself feeling empathetic towards the characters way too easily sometimes.

I read the first bit of Eragon and put it down, never touched it again. And that is something I rarely do. I didn't care for it, and it was rather similar in some ways to other things I've read. I'd heard enough about the plot to know it wasn't for me. A better editor might of helped.

I'm very picky when it comes to dragons and elves, so it's partially just me. The take has to be extremely original or I will go "X did it better."

I am also incredibly fond of Diana Wynne Jones' Tough Guide to Fantasy Land. It's wonderful. And it makes fun of sooo many fantasy novels.
