Posted So, I'm in the middle of the Book Thief by Markus Zusak right now. Narrated by death, it's about a little girl growing up in Nazi Germany who steals books. It's ... interesting. I'm not quite sure that it really works. There are moments when I really enjoy it, but there are so many more where I think that Zusak is just trying too hard to be clever. Posted Hide Post I read it last year. It was okay. Not great, but not too bad. I don't recall thinking in particular thinking that Zusak was trying too hard, but I didn't put a whole lot of thought into the book in general. In the past few days, we've been getting a *huge* amount of Notifications that are bouncing back to the mod email. If you've noticed that you haven't been receiving your normal notifications (ie, new posts, private messages, etc), please make sure that gaiman.board.mods@gmail.com is in your email's safe list. The majority of the bounce-backs seem to be coming from hotmail addresses, so if you've got a hotmail email, please make sure we're in your address book, even if you don't have notifications set up.
