I think I'm about ready to re-read Lymond, and that got me to wondering whether anyone else here liked them.

I always have to knit up my resolve when I re-read them: to quote the wonderful review on Emerald City: " ...as the series progresses, Dunnett develops a talent for emotional cruelty that is hopefully unsurpassable."

The reviewer then comments, "The plots are incredibly complex (be warned, Dunnett also writes detective novels) and, as with Gene Wolfe, you can find yourself getting to the end of a book and still not having a clue about what was actually going on" but also says that "Nothing, in my experience, has brought that ancient world to life more vividly than these books."

Great stuff, actually. Has anyone else read them?

You are a Confectioner. Who can take a sunrise and sprinkle it with dew? Actually, that's Bob The Enchanter, two doors down on the left. But you make delectable treats, which is no simple feat considering Oompa Loompas won't be invented for three centuries. Not only do you delight with your sweets, but you've paved the way for a new profession: dentistry!
