Yeah -- one of the Twin Peaks White Lodge (?) scenes is a carnival stage -- the one with the Really Tall Man. I remember this. I don't remember which episode. I think it might have been Coop while maybe in the Great Northern's (?) restaraunt. I"m not sure.

There's a scary horror-laden scene set in a fair/carnival near the end of Diana Wynne Jones' young adult fantasy Fire and Hemlock.
