I thought about the wand too, but I think it may have been too obvious if JKR told us "and Harry saw Voldemort take his wand out of his pocket, pointed it to something Harry couldn't see and put his wand back in his pocket". Don't you think? The light thing now ... well, the only thing I can say is that we don't know exactly what kind of spell is used to make a horcrux ... I mean, aren't there spells that don't have light effects? I thought 'sectumsempra' didn't take flashes and such ... can be mistaken though. |

ya i still think he had to have his wand. but he could have been opening a container with his soul in it. a soul seems like it would be clear. and then all voldemort did was wlk away. sooo ya.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "We're nearly there... I can apparate us both back... Don't worry...." "I'm not worried Harry" said Dumbledore his voice a little stronger despite the freezing water. "I'm with you." |
Hi,
I also just joined this forum to partake on this discussion. Observed it for several days now and just can't keep myself away any longer ... There's some theory about the locket that came to my mind thinking the whole storyline over and over: Assuming that the real locket is the one in #12, Grimmauld Place, I think it will not be there anymore. Remember Mundungus trying to sell some antquities of Sirius' in Hogsmeade? Really would bet my left arm it was with him then, without him knowing what he was about to do. Why is this in my mind? Well, just think about JKR's storyline; I'm sure nothing's left to accident and she doesn't mention things without a reason. - And, honestly, what was that scene about concerning the plot of HBP? It was some strange scene with no seemingly deeper contents than Harry mentioning later that he was upset seeing Mundungus selling his - Sirius' - things. But that was a thing too marginally, too out of every other context for just mentioning it out of the blue... well, what do you think? By the way, I do agree with jak in the box, the plural of "Horcrux" should have to be "Horcruces" ... |
Hi everybody! Member |
Well, it does make since that the plural of Horcrux is Horcruxes becasue it is like the plural form of box - boxes not boces.
Well however, nut nobody knows if he suceeded in selling the stuff somewhere else; I mean, what had that piece of information to do in the book? It can't just be only to display another thing that's making Harry angry, don't you think? ... As for the plural thing, I was just thinking about the Latin character of the word and the original Latin plural pattern of words ending on "-x", that's all ( like haruspex - haruspices; or iudex - iudices; and -of course - crux - cruces etc. ); but if you think it an English word, well of course "-xes" makes sense ( but as you may have recognised, most of the spells used are Latin imperative forms, so why not that obviously latinophonic word? ), but anyway, that's not that important at all :-) ... Wow, Voldemorts trophy huh?! This is a really godo idea. Anything could happen. At the end of Book 6 Harry is thinking of the list of Horcruxes that he must destroy. They are: The Cup, the locket, the snake, something of Gryffindors or Ravenclaws. Maybe Harry and Dumbledore were mis-informed some way about what Horcruxes are still remaining. The snake shouldn't pose that big of a problem for Harry to destroy.
guys the only problem is you would think that voldomort would have "locked up" his soul better don't you think. Also I think it's safe to harry or anything of harry's is a horcrux.
Also if DD said then i's probably true Nagina is the Horcrux from GOF. Plus that explains voldomort creating a horcrux after the Harry incident. |
Does one Horcrux have to come from each book? If it didn't, that thing that Lucius Malfoy gave the shop keeper in Book Two, when telling him that it was "very valuable", could be it... well, unless it was the necklace that has already been used?
I'm kind of lost on Harry Potter now. I stopped reading these books since, well since the year 2000. I used to have an undying love for the books, but then I watched a movie and fell asleep... and lost all hope in Harry Potter. I just caught up with books five and six recently. Just great! I like all of these theories. Wouldn't you think that Rowling would have made a bit harder to guess, though? |
