Well, I didn't do any fact checking, but its an intriguing book. I highly recommend it.

“Chives?”
“Yes, m’lud?”
“Is that Ms Ephemera hovering over the croquet lawn?”
“Indeed m’lud. She’s marshalled all the haggle-dans. Missy-twigs and vale-nymphs from Claypole Woods. Apparently she intends to tear this house down and dance on the ruins.”
“Well, Chives, you’d better start the car, what? And pack my tennis things too”

You gotta love any book that makes Columbus look like the idiot he was.

The book is really great and entertaining. There's a chapter where Zinn kinda goes nuts and *almost* suggests we should be overthrowing our government.

Anyway, *most* of the facts are accurate. However, there are way too many "some important person noticed:" and "a document discussing X explained..." What I mean is that Zinn uses a whole crud load of anonymous facts. That's not to say they aren't true, it's just that he doesn't really go into much effort into proving their legitimacy.

Also, Zinn does push his own agenda in the book (he's pretty honest about doing this, by the way). So you should remember that he has strong opinions and, when doing research, he looked for facts to back up his opinions (which isn't really a great way to do things in history).
