Hi,
I'm a big Neil fan, but it's getting harder to find his books that i haven't read in Indonesia. I'm running out and i need to read more.
So while waiting for Neil's next novel, do you guys have any suggestions of other authors similar to Neil? i tried reading some other fictions only to end up half finishing them (some didn't even reach half).
Thanks!

Hi Sarasaure

I'm going to move this thread into 'other writers' - you can browse in that area to find lots of other writers we enjoy here.

Give us some idea's what hasn't worked for you, and we'll try to give you some other ideas.

regards!
Smaug

the parrot... ...gets tiresome.

Like Smaug said, I'm not sure what it is about Neil's writing that you enjoy.

If you like the tone, you might check out Kate Griffin. For magic in London, maybe Ben Aaronovitch. For fast-paced fantasy, Illona Andrews. For good dialogue and character studies, Patricia Briggs. For moody humor, Richard Kadrey, Jim Butcher, and Simon Green.

I have no idea which of these would be available in Indonesia. Smile

Terry Pratchett fits the bill if you are looking for a fantasy writer like Neil.

Neil is a major supporting character in Paul Cornell's latest book (with Neil's permission).

Plus if you haven't checked out writers like Suzanna Clarke, Michael Chabon and Clive Barker, you should check them out. Smile

I think that you are going to like Terry Pratchett's work. If you like sci-fi I would recommend you a polish writer Stanislaw Lem - his books are just amazing, it's worth reading, really really .
