since we're nicking stuff from Cavenagh, I must admit to nicking this quote and using it in another forum. My user name there is Maeve as well, but frankly it should be The Confusion Queen!

i love this book.

just got it finished again.

i really think I could open it at any page, and find a quote i liked.

testing....

P112 - "She even tried the one which every romantic nerve in her body insisted should work, which consisted of theatrically giving up, sitting down, and letting her glance fall naturally on a patch of earth which, if she had been in any decent narrative, should have contained the book.
It didn't"

hehe, that was quite a long one!

P239 hmmmm, nothing really quotable, but I like the desription of Crowleys flat.

okay, I can look at every page and smile then Big Grin

hehe, page 138 "they just better not come running to me when ole Picky is turned into a frog, that's all", Muttered Adam.

So, have you's been here...annotations page?

how are we all getting on with this? everyone done? anyone still reading? any further questions, favourite quotes? anyone ready to start the pick for the next book?

I found that line rather funny since I sometimes resort to similer tactics myself. Occassionaly it actually works. I also quite liked the stuff about the ducks, Crowley's plants and so many other things I can't list them all.

I rather liked all the Other Bikers of the Apocalypse, all the stupid name changes they went through.

and Shadwell always seems very John Cleese-ish in my head. rather like tim the Sorcerer from The Holy Grail.

and I like the whole explanation bit about pounds and shillings and such.

that's all I can remember offhand. I spose I could go read it again!

I got Thud and Anansi Boys yesterday. Reading Thud first 'cos I can devour Pratchett easily and I want to be able to really focus on AB. ...if that makes sense.

third of the way into Thud... it's plodding, which isn't typical. eh, it will prolly get better the second time through.
