There's an "extraordinary literary event" in St. Louis this weekend called The Big Read. Does anyone know any of the authors who are going to be here? Anyone I should particularly check out?

I think we're going to take Molly to some of the kids stuff, and I'll check out an author or two, or maybe a panel discussion if there's time. If anyone's close and interested, you should come!

Both Sebastian Junger and Ridley Pearson might be fun to see. I haven't read anything by either of them, but they both seem interesting. Junger wrote the Perfect Storm. Pearson co-authored a new Peter Pan series with the hilarious Dave Barry that I keep meaning to pick up.

And the Kid's stuff is always fun! Smile

Well, we went this morning, and had a great time. Besides beautiful weather, we had lots of fun. There were characters walking around, and Molly got her picture taken with Clifford and PoohBear, and made a bookmark and journal (sort of) and a great bag to carry everything in. I bought her a couple of books, one for all of us with family writing exercises to do as she gets older, and I got some info on the St. Louis Writer's Guild and a St. Louis publishing company. All in all quite an enjoyable morning.
