well, the new testament is a 4 way biography, which sometimes confuses or even slightly contradicts itself, whilst granting 4 different views of the central character, who remains enigmatic.

I can't tell how serious you are about this, but it's actually one of the qualities I like most about the bible. That sort of thing in a book signals to me as a reader: "Okay, get out your brain, because we're asking you to make choices, to think and to interpret. You don't want that? Well, read a different book." |

And, honestly, you want contradictory, read the Gospels that didn't make the cut. Good night, they're awful.
Whenever someone asks why all Scripture isn't included in the canonical Bible, I really question if they've read any of the other stuff. That which isn't flatly contradictory and political is just plain useless for any sort of information and spiritual instruction. Well, with the exception of those excised bits of Isaiah and Daniel and the Maccabees. Rather wish we'd kept those.
