Posted Well, after reading Sunbird (it ranks in the top three of my Neil short stories - Behind Study in Emerald and Monarch of the Glen, but I haven't read Smoke and Mirrors yet), and noting that Neil said it was written in the style of R. A. Lafferty, I rushed to ebay and bought two of his books: 900 Grandmothers and Apocalypses (they were really cheap and the seller combined shipping). They haven't yet arrived inthe mail, but I was wondering what of his stuff is your favorite/the best? What can I expect?

denver Shoggoth's Most Peculiar Member	Posted Hide Post His short stories are absolutely amazing. 900 Grandmother's is a great collection. They come in lots of different genres, really they're tall tales as much as anything. Great fun. I struggle with his novels, to be honest, which I think are patchy, and often very complex and/or dense, but the short stories are things of beauty and wonder.

In the past few days, we've been getting a *huge* amount of Notifications that are bouncing back to the mod email. If you've noticed that you haven't been receiving your normal notifications (ie, new posts, private messages, etc), please make sure that gaiman.board.mods@gmail.com is in your email's safe list. The majority of the bounce-backs seem to be coming from hotmail addresses, so if you've got a hotmail email, please make sure we're in your address book, even if you don't have notifications set up.
