Also, there's apparently a big size 3 volume Promethea ultimate hardcover edition planned, which will have some of artwork for early issues slightly reworked.

SLIGHTLY annoying for people like me who bought the original issues and THEN the hardcovers. Mad

Promethea #32 is offered in the February issue of previews - and there WILL be a double poster version of the issue offered - but it's a limited print of 1.000 units. So you better order NOW if you want it!

(the images above are the front covers, not the actual posters)

---------------------------------------
Promethea #32 (Variant Edition)
America's Best Comics
Written by Alan Moore; art and cover by J.H. Williams III

In celebration of the final issue of PROMETHEA, America's Best Comics is pleased to offer something truly unique: a variant version of issue #32 printed completely on two 27" x 40" posters! Each page of this groundbreaking issue comes together to form these two posters in which the entire story can be read in multiple ways. Just as important, the posters reveal two hidden images from the book that are only visible in poster format — something completely new to comics!

In addition, the PROMETHEA #32 VARIANT EDITION comes with a lovely saddle-stitched, 48-page companion book that collects each and every PROMETHEA cover illustrated by J.H. Williams.

And as a bonus, each book will be signed by Moore and Williams!

Retailers please note: This edition is limited to 1,000 units; orders may be allocated. A limited number of unsigned copies of the PROMETHEA COVER COLLECTION will be offered for sale at a later date.

48 pages, includes two 27" x 40" full-color posters.

Release date: Feb. 9, 2005

(Okay, let's try this again - the board seems to be acting up.)

Michael, do you know where I could order this online? I'd love to get my hands on one of these babies...

I dunno, actually. But I just posted the question on the Alan Moore mailing list. Someone there ought to know.

Okay, there's a reply - http://www.dcbservice.com lists the limited edition book for preorder. If you wait a bit maybe there'll be more suggestions.

I just got the Llama to buy Book 1 when we were at Dreamhaven, and discovered that even though I had taken a hiatus from following comic books that has lasted around 6 months (more or less), I haven't missed any new Prometheas, except #31, which I now have read. I'll have to read it again, because I can't help but feel that I've missed a step along the way and that all the amazing and brilliant education of Sophie as Promethea has lead to a great big anti-climax.

“Chives?”
“Yes, m’lud?”
“Is that Ms Ephemera hovering over the croquet lawn?”
“Indeed m’lud. She’s marshalled all the haggle-dans. Missy-twigs and vale-nymphs from Claypole Woods. Apparently she intends to tear this house down and dance on the ruins.”
“Well, Chives, you’d better start the car, what? And pack my tennis things too”

Promethia's the only current regular comic I buy right now. It's one of the few where I won't wait for the collected editions, but have to read whatever issues have appeared between comics conventions (where I buy most of my comics -- no shops near me and I don't buy online). I'm looking foeward to the last issue, but it's a bit like when Sandman ended, what comics are there to be enthusiastic about now?

I buy other comics, but usually based on the artwork (not that I don't enjoy J.H. Williams's work).
