I hope it's cool if I post this here.
If not, I apologize for my ignorance. Please delete the thread if you so choose.

I have begun a new webcomic entitled WHACKED!
The strip is a dramedy that follows the (mis) adventures of two high school students: Harry Palmer and Ronald Spitz.

I had actually billed the strip as "For those who weren't cool in high school," but then I decided that everyone can gain enjoyement from the strip--no matter how good or bad your high school experience is/was/will be.

Enough blathering.

PLEASE CHECK IT OUT and let me know what you think.

Thank you for looking.

D

You're asking us to look at your art, not to buy the T-shirts displaying the art, and you aren't asking us to do this on your first post, so it's cool. If you have any future concerns of the kind, please drop a private message either to me or aitapata and we'll look into it.

Hey Dwight, that looks like a lot of fun. It kind of reminds me of the old John Hughes movies. How often do you plan to update the strip? Best of luck to you!

While your work goes largely unappreciated, at least it pays the bills. Why, that enormous golden M you painted for the new Scottish restaurant down the street netted you a farthing!

Just checking this out for the first time. This is fun stuff. One site mechanics suggestion would be to allow people to move from one ep to the next without having to back out of it. Like I said, fun stuff, I'll keep an eye on it.

Thank you very much!
We're actually working to incorporate a "standard" webcomic set-up. I'll keep you posted and thanks again!

I love the art, the characters, just about everything, but I do have a question about comic #3. In the second panel, it looks like the jock in the background is holding his lunch tray in both hands, then in the third panel, Palmer goes face-down into his tatertots, having been struck in the back of the head by a jockstrap (Ew). Are we to assume that the jock threw the jockstrap? The connection seems obvious, but no clear conclusion can be drawn from what we're shown.

What you have seen in this strip is a painful occurrence known as a "language barrier." hahaha
Antonio is a phenomenal artist, but this is one instance of an improper translation.
What I've told everyone else (yes: I lied) is simply this: the jock strap is symbolic of traditional mistreatment of "nerds" by "the jocks."
Feel free to choose either explanation. Big Grin

You mean it was supposed to be the jock hitting him in the back of the head!? HA!

Yeah! Hahahaha!

To be honest with you, I think it's hilarious to see a jock strap doing the damage.
Did you see Friday's strip?
The strap has struck again!

Very humerous... I found it funny.
Especially because I know a couple kids like that, and as pathetic as they are (not to be rude) you can't help but feel sorry for them and pray to God that the trash can they're destined for has been emptied of the mystery meat)

Have you written a strip involving the kids being canned?
Not very origional, I know, but always good for a laugh. Big Grin
